Local News Roundup: D.A. Says No Charges in Keith Scott Shooting; Governor's Race Recount in Durham

No charges against the officer in the Keith Scott shooting.  An update on the still-undecided governor’s race and the River District development is approved.  Those stories and more on the local news roundup. 

Our roundtable of reporters has the latest on the Charlotte DA’s decision not to file charges in the Keith Scott shooting, as well as the protests resulting from that decision.  

Although Election Day was nearly a month ago, there's no official winner yet in the NC Gubernatorial race. Democratic candidate Roy Cooper’s lead over incumbent Republican Pat McCrory is now over the 10,000 markas counties continue to certify their results around the state. We’ll share the latest on that, including what’s happening in Durham County, where McCrory representatives have been granted a recount.

Charlotte has a new city manager. Marcus Jones, formerly of Norfolk, VA, where he was also city manager, was sworn in on Thursday. We'll go through what we've learned about him as he takes office.

North Carolina’s wildfires are under control, but in neighboring Tennessee, fires there destroyed parts of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge- we'll provide an update about the fires there and whether the threat in North Carolina is over, or whether our continuing drought has North Carolina still in danger of fire….

The city ok’s the rezoning for the massive development near the airport—we’ll talk about the plans and possible economic impact of the “River District”.
