Against The Odds, 5 Young Latinas Graduate High School And 'Circle de Luz'

Gabby is one of the first five young women to graduate from Circle de Luz, a program founded in 2008 to help young Latinas through middle and high school.

Six years ago, a group of young women were picked to take part in a special program. The girls were all in the seventh grade, all were Latinas, and all were deemed to be at risk of dropping out of school or becoming pregnant. The program is run by a volunteer group called Circle de Luz. And last week the group – and the young women they mentored – had reason to celebrate

High Stepping Marching Band Championship This Weekend At JCSU

The best of the nation's high stepping marching bands will be on display this weekend in Charlotte.

Thirty bands from across the country will compete National High School High Stepping Marching Band Championship at Johnson C. Smith University.

High stepping  involves dancers, tall, plumed hats, a strong drumline, and plenty of attitude.
