Starting Sunday, Charlotte's historic trolleys will begin alternating with light rail on the Blue Lynx Line between Uptown and South End. Historic trolley service in Charlotte stopped two years ago during construction for the light rail. WFAE's Julie Rose spoke with Charlotte Trolley executive director Ron Tober about the Queen City's trolley history. Trolley Car Number 85 will return to the tracks for a maiden voyage at 1 p.m. Sunday, followed by a ceremony and celebration at Atherton Mill in South End.
