CMPD has charged a 16-year-old male with the murder of a man in north Charlotte that occurred Monday afternoon near Beatties Ford Road.
Police charged Tamerrian Anthony with the murder of 25-year-old Demario Ericson Roddey.
Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service a little before 3 p.m. Monday. Upon arrival, they found Roddey with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they believe an argument between Roddey and Anthony led to the fatal shooting.
Anthony is in police custody and will be charged with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to CMPD.
This is the 18th homicide in Charlotte this year.
