Summer Split: Public Beaches / Summer Reads

Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation
Ramsey Creek Beach

We hear about the first public beach on Lake Norman in 40 years and the prospect of more on the way and about cool reads for hot summer days.

Part 1
Summer is upon us.  Beach time.  But this year, you don’t have to drive hours to get to one.  Over Memorial Day Weekend, a public beach opened on Lake Norman, allowing access to the lake to those who don’t own property there. We hear about the first county park in 40 years to allow swimming and how more could be on the way.

Guests
James (Jim) Garges – Director Mecklenburg County Park and Recreations Department
Bill Russell – President, Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce
Christy Churchill - Recreation Planning Project Manager, Duke Energy

Part 2
