Sounds like ACC will call Charlotte home for championship football

ACC Commisioner John Swofford says "I think we've probably found a home in Charlotte" for the league's football championship game, according to the (Raleigh) News & Observer. Swofford was in Raleigh to address the Raleigh Sports Club. The ACC's championship game was in Charlotte for the first time last year. Jacksonville and Tampa, Fla., hosted the game for its first five years, but attendance sagged. The game this past December in Charlotte - Virginia Tech vs. Florida State - sold out. Swofford said it was a "huge success." "It's hard to say that after one year because we want to see a progression of successes before you call a place a home. But the fact that Charlotte is within 300 miles of eight of our schools is a real plus, because it enhances the fact that you're going to have at least one fan base that can drive in and out to the game."
