Salt, sugar and fat. Those three ingredients are hard to avoid in the American diet. Salt, sugar and fat are added to packaged foods in such large quantities that we have actually become addicted to them – and – our tastes have changed to prefer foods with higher quantities of those ingredients. How did this happen? The short answer is “deliberately,” and the food industry is culpable.
