The Federal Reserve Board will hold public meetings in April on Charlotte-based Bank of America's planned buyout of the troubled mortgage lender Countrywide Financial. The move comes after community groups and others protested the deal since it was announced in January. From WFAE's Carolinas Business Bureau, Simone Orendain asked UNC Charlotte Banking Professor Tony Plath how effective such protests would be against the deal.
