This week, the education topic of basing teacher pay on performance was the subject of a WFAE Public Conversations forum. CMS is pushing such a plan, which would judge teacher performance in part on how well, or how poorly, students do on standardized tests. Our panel included two teachers with different opinions. One, Larry Bosc of East Mecklenburg High, has been a teacher for more than 30 years. He's against the CMS plan. Courtney Mason is in her fourth year teaching. She supports the plan. This audio includes an edited exchange between them, starting with Mr. Bosc. You can also listen to the entire public conversation here.
