Olympic Trials Begin at USNWC

Apr 25, 2008

One-hundred thirty-three paddlers vying for the Olympics are taking to the rapids today at the U.S. National Whitewater Center near Charlotte. The trials will run through Sunday and crowds can watch as the paddlers maneuver their kayaks and canoes through a series of gates. The athletes come from 13 different countries. Kayaker Nathan John Davis has his sights set on representing Canada at this year's Olympics in Beijing. Davis spoke with WFAE's Lisa Miller at the Whitewater Center about the competition ahead and the preparation that got him to this point.
