Craft Beer maybe exploding but it’s relatively new in North Carolina. What isn’t new is the distilling of spirits. It goes back to the days of moonshiners cooking up batches in the woods with revenuers hot on their heels. Today, distillers are out in the open and have tapped into the public’s thirst for locally-crafted liquor but like craft brewers, they, too, face some antiquated laws.
