The Republican National Convention has plenty of new faces in the crowd this year. Donald Trump has managed to attract scores of newcomers, many of them attending the convention for the first time.

The audience in Cleveland largely reflects the people Trump poll well with - older, white Americans. But in order to win the general election, Trump will want to make gains with other segments of the population. Notably, Trump is lagging in support from younger voters. A poll released this week by the Harvard Institute for Politics finds three-quarters of young people between 18 and 29 view Trump unfavorably.

WFAE spoke with North Carolina's youngest delegate attending the convention this week: 21 year old Joseph Knox from Beaufort County. He said while he was originally supporting Scott Walker, Trump won the primaries fair and square, and his job as a delegate is to represent what the people voted for. He also offered his take on the Republican party's relationship with young voters.
