Music and Black Southern History
Music has been at the core of the African-American experience since the days of slavery. We'll share that experience with two groups giving voice to such music. Actor's Theatre of Charlotte is presenting Black Pearl Sings, a show about the preservation of black music and the Levine Museum of the New South is following suit with a learning exhibit called Music and Black Southern History. Join us for a musical and historical rendition of Charlotte Talks. Guests Terry Henry-Norman - Actress, plays "Pearl" in Black Pearl Sings Dennis Delamar - Director, Black Pearl Sings Frank Higgins - Playwright, Black Pearl Sings Janeen Bryan - VP of Education, Levine Museum of the New South Actor's Theatre of Charlotte | Information about Black Pearl Sings Levine Museum | Information about Music and Black Southern History
