For the past year, former Charlotte city councilman and state lawmaker Malcolm Graham has grappled with the loss of his sister, Cynthia Graham Hurd. She was one of the nine shot and killed at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston a year ago.
Graham and other victim’s family members have grieved in the public eye for the last 12 months. Some were quick to forgive the killer. That wasn’t the case for Graham. A year after the murders, he says he’s found some peace, but forgiveness has nothing to do with it.
