Local News Roundup On Charlotte Talks

Eric Frazier, Michael Tomsic (top) Nick Ochsner, Erik Spanberg (bottom)

On this edition of the news roundup, the state Board of Election met this week to discuss controversial early voting plans for local election boards. Michael Tomsic will join us from Raleigh to update us on the outcome of the meeting.

In other election news, Richard Burr received $9 million pledged by Super PACs for his U.S. Senate campaign—what this means for the tight Senate race and for opponent Deborah Ross as election day nears. Charlotte-area charter schools are receiving more Fs than A's on state report cards. We’ll talk about who did well and who did not-- and what that means for the future of charters here. Meanwhile, CMS is moving towards magnet programs that balance socioeconomic status to break up areas of disadvantage in the system. We’ll talk about the plans for that. And the Panthers have a Super Bowl re-match Thursday night- how we did against the Broncos this time around. Those stories and much more.
