From an ordinance passed in Charlotte- to a law passed in Raleigh- to a series of competing law suits, the debate over transgender rights is now in the national spotlight. Mayor Roberts says the state is bullying the city and transgender people. The governor says the federal government is bullying the state and Washington says the state is discriminating against a maligned group.
