Joe and Terry Graedon of The People's Pharmacy The Graedons, Joe and Terry, have long been known to public radio listeners for their show, The People's Pharmacy. The show turns 30 this year, but the beginnings of their partnership and mission to educate people about their health began several years before that. The Graedons are in Charlotte to talk about how they got started, the responsibility of being an informed patient, and their longstanding dedication to informing people about all things health and medicine. This show was recorded in front of a live audience at McGlohon Theatre on Thursday, Nov. 10th. The Graedons brought a few of their favorite home remedies. Raisins soaked in gin for arthritis. Listerine to kill lice, cure dandruff or fungus. Black pepper can stop bleeding, then use sugar to help the wound heal. Use soy sauce on burns to soothe the pain and prevent scarring.
