North Carolina is known for many noble pursuits including staunch support of the revolution, the birth of flight, important moments in the civil rights battle and more. One of its more dubious distinctions however, is also one of the most enduring and misunderstood; the state's history with Moonshine. The "White Lightning" liquor has a long and storied history that is rich with myth and legend as well as being intertwined with the birth of NASCAR.
