Hillary Clinton has poured eight figures into TV commercials, while Donald Trump has yet to put a single general election ad on the air. These commercials - particularly attack ads - have been a hallmark of White House campaigns for decades. We look at the history of campaign ads, and how they’ve changed in the social media age.
