Tuesday is Election Day in Charlotte. A new Mayor is going to be elected, as well as the city council-at-large seat, seven city council seats and five CMS district seats. It’s been a relatively quiet pre-election season, but the issues to discuss abound. Mayoral candidates Patrick Cannon and Edwin Peacock have starkly different backgrounds, but some ideological similarities. As Charlotte continues to find its footing as an international city, our elected officials will need to balance expansion with fiscal responsibility. And as politics become more polarized than ever, they will need to know how to compromise. Our experts lend insight into the issues and the candidates.
