Creator Of Phineas And Ferb & Moving Poets Return To Charlotte

Wendy Herkey
Dan Povenmire stopped by the studio this morning to talk about the hit kids TV show Phineas and Ferb. He's the creator of the show and the evil voice behind Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
Dan Povenmire

Part One: Dan Povenmire of Phineas and Ferb. Dan Povenmire may not be a household name but his creation, Phineas and Ferb, is one of the most popular kids shows on television. Povenmire lends his artistry, writing and voice talent to the show. The longtime cartoonist has a crazy sense of humor but he is coming to town for a more serious reason. His yet to be born nephew has a serious and rare disease. Dan’s sister lives here in Charlotte and he’s coming to town to help her promote awareness for this challenging condition. We’ll share some laughs, and explore a little known but important children’s health issue.

Part Two: Moving Poets Return to Charlotte. Remember Moving Poets? The Charlotte stage troupe that combines theater and dance left in 2006, taking their unique multi-media performances to Berlin in search of more audiences and more support. Now they're back and presenting Moving Poets Reloaded this weekend, their first show in Charlotte in seven years. The founder of the group and artistic director join us to discuss their revival, the launch of an artistic exchange between the two cities, the differences between audiences and the arts here and abroad, blending cultural influences, the future of Moving Poets and more.
