CMS Tops Nearly All Large Urban Districts On Nation's Report Card

A national report card shows CMS fourth and eighth graders topped nearly all of the 21 urban districts tested on this year's math and reading tests. CMS was among the top three scoring urban districts in math and reading. Hillsborough County, Florida and Austin, Texas scored closest to CMS. The district saw some gains in eighth reading, but for the most part the district's scores held steady from 2009 when the tests were last administered. Like other districts, CMS's low-income fourth and eighth graders continue to lag far behind their middle-class counterparts.
