Charlotte Talks: New Tools In Opioid Fight

The impact of measures to combat the deadly opioid epidemic in North Carolina. Mike Collins and a panel of experts hear about legislation, law enforcement’s changing approach and from Governor Cooper. 

The opioid epidemic is the worst drug scourge in the nation’s history.  Opioid deaths surpass the number killed in car crashes and show no sign of slowing down. 

But action is being taken. 

Mike Collins is joined by a panel of experts to hear about efforts in North Carolina which include doctors being required to report all prescriptions to this state’s controlled substance database, law enforcement’s altered approach.

We'll also be joined by Governor Roy Cooper to get an update on what the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis is doing.
