As the summer travel season heats up, we get an update on the $2.5 billion expansion plan at Charlotte Douglas International airport, find out what happened with all those flight cancellations and more.
It's been a busy time at the airport. Charlotte Douglas International is in the midst of a $2.5 billion expansion and renovation project. An expansion of Concourse A is nearly complete and work is underway on new gates and other improvements with an expected completion date in 2025.

The airport remains one of the nation's busiest and is American Airlines second-largest hub. As we head into the summer travel season, CLT's aviation director Brent Cagle joins guest host Erik Spanberg for an update on the airport's expansion plans. We'll also talk about the recent flight cancellation debacle, the new Amazon distribution center, and much more.
