On the next Charlotte Talks, we talk all about NASCAR as it and Charlotte prepare for the Coca-Cola 600. We sit down with some racing experts to discuss where NASCAR is and where it’s headed.
NASCAR takes center stage in Charlotte this week. Voting begins today for the next class to enter the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Coca-Cola 600, the sport’s longest race, is this weekend.
All this comes at a time when stock car racing is in transition, facing lower TV ratings, slumping attendance and the retirement of Dale Earnhardt, Jr., last year. But the sport is working on the challenges they face and to develop more diversity. The entrance of Bubba Wallace, an African-American driver, is seen as moving things in the right direction.
