Wednesday, November 22 2017

Host Mike Collins meets lyricist Tim Rice - the man behind the memorable words to songs from The Lion King, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Beauty and the Beast, Evita, Aladdin and more.

You may know Tim Rice as Andrew Lloyd Webber's song writing partner for Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, or Evita

Or you may know the lyrics he wrote to Elton John’s music for The Lion King, or with Alan Menken for Beauty and the Beast, or Aladdin

Tim Rice has been a major force in musical theatre for decades and has won 3 Golden Globes, 3 Oscars, 2 Tonys and a Grammy for his efforts.

Rice was in Charlotte earlier this month and sat down with host Mike Collins to talk about his career and his lyrics, and to hear live performances of some of his most successful tunes.

That conversation on the next Charlotte Talks.
