We continue our series on crime and the media with a look at our perception of youth and ethnicity through the lens of the camera, on the radio and in print media. Do we have a skewed perception of violence among our youth and in our immigrant community? Do we over-report crime among young people and do we over-represent crime in our minority communities? Or is the news simply reporting on a deeper issue in some of our neighborhoods? From violence in schools to crime in certain neighborhoods, our panel will look at how media cover crime as it pertains to youth and ethnicity when Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins.
