Charlotte School Of Law Placed On Probation

The Charlotte School of Law has been placed on probation by the American Bar Association, effective November 14. The association says the law school has been admitting students who were incapable of completing the program or passing the Bar exam, and thus has been inadequate in preparing students for careers as lawyers.

According to a public notice addressed to the law school, administrators will be required to explain their admission practices and detail exactly what factors the school uses in determining what students to accept.

The school will also be required to post a prominent notice of its probation status on its website, and will have to notify every admitted student, in writing, of the law school's passage rates for the Bar exam, until the association determines the school to have risen into compliance.
