Charlotte Photographer's Museum Exhibit Captures Music Legends

If you’re a music fan, chances are you’ve seen the work of Charlotte photographer Daniel Coston.  His photos have been published in Rolling Stone, Time – you name it.And they’ve appeared in a wide range of CD releases from groups like the Avett Brothers and indie rockers Guided by Voices. An exhibit of Coston’s work opens Friday at the Charlotte Museum of History. WFAE's Marshall Terry interviewed Coston at the museum. Among his subjects on display: Johnny Cash, from a photo that Coston shot just before the legend died.

You can see the Daniel Coston exhibit, On the Way to Here, Adventures in Photography, Music, and Life, at the Charlotte Museum of History through the end of January.

Marshall came to WFAE after graduating from Appalachian State University, where he worked at the campus radio station and earned a degree in communication. Outside of radio, he loves listening to music and going to see bands - preferably in small, dingy clubs.
