Since the attacks of 9/11, American Muslims have found themselves in the spotlight and recent acts of terrorism in Paris and San Bernardino have brought them once again to the forefront of the political conversation. Donald Trump, for instance, has called for a complete shutdown of Muslims entering the country. Some Charlotte Muslims share what it’s like living in this environment and shed light on common misconceptions of their religion and their culture.
