For writers, it is the best of times and the worst of times. There are many non-traditional avenues for getting work published but readers have become fragmented and major publishing houses are more particular about what they publish. We hear from several Charlotte authors about the state of their industry, how it affects their work and more.
Guests:
- Morri Creech - Professor and Writer-in-Residence at Queens University of Charlotte; author of three collections of poetry, including The Sleep of Reason, a finalist for the 2014 Pulitzer Prize
- Cynthia Lewis - Dana Professor of English at Davidson College; currently finishing her latest book, The Game's Afoot: Sports and Shakespeare
- Aaron Gywn - Associate Professor of English at UNC Charlotte; author of a story collection and two novels, including this most recent, Wynne's War
Event:
Our guests will be leading master classes at the North Carolina Writers' Network 2014 Fall Conference this weekend (Friday Nov. 21 thru Sunday Nov. 23) at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel.
