UNC Charlotte's Action Research Project in action in the Reid Park Neighborhood. Part One: Charlotte Action Research Project The City of Charlotte is funding a program at UNC Charlotte that pairs graduate students as "community liaisons" with local neighborhoods to develop community projects that help residents take ownership of their individual neighborhoods. The students and community members work as partners to define opportunities and problems in the neighborhood and to address them and take action on improving quality of life in their neighborhood. We'll meet the actors who play Huey, a white radio DJ who wants to change the world, and Felicia, a black club singer just waiting for her big break. MEMPHIS is a story about rock-n-roll music, radio, race, and love against the backdrop of the Civil Rights Movement. We'll talk about it and hear some of the music.
