Catawba Lands Conservancy We recently explored the impact of Duke Power's energy policies on the health of the Catawba River. Several organizations work to protect the river, none more so than the Catawba Lands Conservancy. The Conservancy celebrates 20 years of protecting the river, its surrounding lands and the trails the wind through our region. They will mark December with a series of forums on trail preservation, closings on new land acquisitions and announcements concerning the Carolina Thread Trail. They will share those initiatives and more with us.
