Advancement Officer

THE POSITION:
 
WFAE seeks an experienced fundraising professional to enhance the organization’s major
gifts program. Working closely with the Executive Director of Advancement and WFAE’s CEO, the Advancement officer will manage relationships with approximately 120 current and/or prospective donors. This position is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding these individuals as well as planning and attending fundraising activities and events. This position is responsible for consistent tracking and reporting of major gift progress and performs other duties as assigned.
 
College degree in business, the arts, or fundraising is required. Thorough knowledge of major gift fundraising concepts and operations, as well as extensive experience in donor research, cultivation,
solicitation and stewardship is also required. The successful candidate will have exceptional written and oral presentation skills. Experience using fundraising software is preferred. This person must be able to work well under deadline pressure, demonstrate patience, understand the needs of others, and maintain a clear sense of priorities in a demanding environment. Must be able to see, hear, speak, reach, grasp, operate and input data into a computer, sit and stand for long periods of time and move freely about the building. A high level of concentration skills and the ability to be detail-oriented are of value. Must be able to communicate in person with individuals or groups and answer and speak on the phone. Must be able to travel locally when necessary using personal or public transportation to assist in meetings and solicitation visits, which may require irregular hours on a regular basis. Professional appearance is a must. Light travel may be required.
