WFAE is proud to offer commentaries on a regular basis. We hope you enjoy these slice-of-life essays, editorials on local issues or other stories that we share. They come from a variety of very talented writers across the Charlotte region.

WFAE welcomes script submissions from prospective local essayists/commentators. We are looking for people who can express their ideas with clear, compelling, and creative writing and verbally present their essay in a conversational manner. Pieces may be serious or humorous. The best essays tell a personal story, reveal a personal reflection or conviction, or add meaningful perspective to a current issue, trend or event.

Scripts should be under 500 words. Commentary material must be in good taste and will be edited by the WFAE news staff. WFAE does not pay for local commentary pieces. If you decide to submit a script, please email it to: gcollard@wfae.org. Someone from our news staff will get back with you.
