With the campaign behind him, Charlotte Mayor-elect Anthony Foxx now faces the task of following up on campaign promises and leading the 19th-largest city in the country. He spoke to WFAE's Mark Rumsey about his new job and Charlotte's future.

Congrats. I am enthused to have a full-time mayor who has pledged to sign the Climate Pact. I look forward to working with you on clean green energy, perhaps such projects as can be found at www.carbonfreenuclearfree.org and www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2009/0903.blake.html which are currently producing green jobs and prosperity in American cities and elsewhere!

I'm looking forward to Mr. Foxx and what he will bring to the Mayors office. I believe he is more than capable of leading this city. His recent comments regarding the children in our area confirm that we must nurture and develop our younger citizens so that they will become good citizens.
