It started with cigarettes and cell phones. It ended when an FBI hostage rescue team freed the father of a Wake County assistant district attorney and with two former North Carolina prison guards facing federal charges. Just how the guards helped make the kidnapping, which took place last year, possible were laid out in federal charges this week.

Nine People Indicted In Kidnapping Of Wake Forest Man

All eight suspects involved in the kidnapping of a man from his home near Raleigh and taken to Atlanta are now in custody after being indicted by a grand jury on federal kidnapping charges.  

FBI agents say the victim was held hostage for five days in hopes that his daughter would help an inmate that she prosecuted.

A man who was kidnapped from his home in Wake Forest, North Carolina last week and taken to Atlanta, was rescued around midnight on Wednesday by FBI agents. 

The FBI says they believe he was held hostage for five days in hopes that his daughter would help an inmate that she prosecuted.
