Governor Pat McCrory was in Huntersville on Thursday for the opening of a new DMV office. During his visit, he announced that the written test will no longer be required for out-of-state residents to get a North Carolina driver's license. Only first-time drivers and applicants with licenses that have been expired for more than two years will be required to take the written test.
