Bobcats Aim For Better Times

The Charlotte Bobcats finished last season with the NBA's worst record - 59 losses and just seven wins.  This year, the team has a new coach and several new players including #2 draft pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrest.     Team officials are hoping to make new inroads with fans and the community this season.  WFAE's Mark Rumsey spoke with Bobcats' President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield to learn more about the team's new "gameplan".

Fall Sports Preview

Fall is in the air and so are a variety of balls. Footballs are being slung on fields all over America and right down the street at Panther Stadium. So are baseballs as the major league season rounds third and heads for home. Basketballs will be bouncing soon in Time Warner Arena and on Tobacco Road. Fall begins a very busy professional and college sports season and we’ll take a look at the Panthers, Bobcats, Hurricanes hockey and we’ll also check in on the progress of UNC Charlotte football and the prospect of uptown baseball.

Bobcats Arena Grand Opening

(10/20/05) The Charlotte Bobcats Arena marks it's grand opening tomorrow when the Rolling Stones come to town. And this weekend the arena will be open to the public for tours. WFAE's Jaime Bedrin got in early and wanted to learn more about the building's state-of-the-art scoreboard. She caught up with Charlotte Bobcats Arena operatios manager Barry Silberman.
