World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day is December 1. This day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. The issue is especially important here because Mecklenburg County has the highest number of HIV/AIDS cases in North Carolina. And four out of ten Americans living with AIDS reside in the South. It has also been said that research coming out of North Carolina is driving international standards for treatment. We'll talk with someone who is living with HIV here in Charlotte and hear from experts about where the fight against HIV is.

Guests
Dr. Marc Johnson

Dr. Myron Cohen - Yeargan-Bate Eminent Professor of Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology and Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
