A group called the New Brooklyn Initiative is trying to build support for the redevelopment of a long stretch of Beatties Ford Road. Charlotte's trolley line will soon be linked to the area, and the neighborhood's proximity to uptown makes it potentially attractive to developers. Charlotte's inner ring neighborhoods, like Dilworth and Plaza-Midwood, have been hugely popular in recent years. But some on the West side wonder if that type of situation is actually good for them.
