In October, North Carolina's mountains are the center of tourist attention. More than a million people flock to the higher altitudes for a glimpse of spectacular foliage this time of year, so it's no surprise that North Carolina has designated an official "Fall Color Guy." Yes, that's a real title. He's Dr. Howie Neufeld, plant physiologist at Appalachian State University. And this time of year, his work revolves around a palette of three colors - red, yellow and oragne. WFAE's Julie Rose spoke to Dr. Neufeld about his work.
