Union County has a new district attorney. Governor Perdue on Thursday appointed Monroe attorney Trey Robison to the job. Robison takes over for John Snyder, who was re-elected to a four-year term this year but then resigned this month to take a job with a law firm. In fact, Snyder recommended Robison for the job. "I was a pretty good prosecutor back in the day, and it was an opportunity to get back into prosecuting and it is a job I think I will be good at." Robison served as an assistant DA in Union County for six years until 2002. He says he prosecuted everything from speeding tickets to murder cases. His appointment begins Saturday and lasts for two years. He's never run for public office, but Robison says he intends to campaign to serve the rest of Snyder's term.
