Lake Norman is the largest lake in the state, with more than 500 miles of shoreline. But a 30-year ban on public swimming has essentially put the lake out of reach for thousands of locals and visitors. Now the pressure is on to lift the ban, and Mecklenburg County officials are taking the pleas seriously. A forum on the issue is scheduled for tomorrow morning at the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce. WFAE's Julie Rose has more. The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce will host a Focus Friday community briefing this Friday, July 25 from 8-9:30 a.m. on the topic: Public Access Swimming at Lake Norman.
