At a time when the music industry is undergoing mammoth changes, Charlotte is becoming more prominent. For a long time, most rap, hip hop and R & B has come out of Atlanta, closely followed by New York and L.A. but now, Charlotte is making headway and will be the site of the upcoming South Eastern Music Conference.
