Get in the spooky spirit of Halloween at a family-friendly event full of frightful fun!

Atherton Market in Charlotte’s historic SouthEnd will host the first-ever “Carved” event on Sunday, October 20, beginning at 4 pm when chefs will bring their knife skills to the task of creatively carving plain old pumpkins into works of art.

Kids under 12 are encouraged to bring their own cleverly carved pumpkins from home and compete for prizes.

It’s all in good fun, but the event will support good works, too. Proceeds will go to the Slow Food Charlotte Farmers Fund which serves farmers through education of sustainable practices.

In addition to the pumpkin carving, there will be music, crafts, merriment, and fun. Deborah Triplett Photography will sponsor a photo booth to preserve your memories of the day. Food will be available for purchase from local food trucks and area businesses. Beverages for the kids and Triple C beer for adults will be offered in a signature event cup with purchase of a $10 advanced ticket or $15 at the door. Kids 12 and younger enter for $5, unless they bring a carved jack-o-lantern and then admission is free!

Tickets are available online here.

This event is being sponsored by the Atherton Market, Piedmont Culinary Guild, Slow Food Charlotte, and Luna’s Living Kitchen. Please visit them by clicking the links below.
