This week, the city of Lenoir and Caldwell County are the focus of a three-part series on NPR's All Things Considered. The series, which begins today, focuses on the rampant decline of the area's furniture industry, and tells the story of how Lenoir became home to a huge Google data center and server farm. We'll learn about the challenges that laid-off furniture workers face, and about those who've made the transition to a digital economy. The series reporter, NPR's Frank Langfitt, also visited the region in China where many of the furniture jobs have gone. In this segment, Langfitt discusses the series with WFAE's Scott Graf.
