A North Carolina medical examiner recently resigned over carbon monoxide deaths at a Boone hotel.

Recent deaths due to carbon monoxide poisoning in a Boone Hotel have turned the spotlight onto possible failures at the state Medical Examiners office but the department has been under scrutiny for over a decade.
