As Charlotte takes in more people, the debate over where and how the city grows continues to be in the spotlight. Chris Leinberger, a real estate analyst and a fellow at the Brookings Institution, is speaking at the Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte tonight. He believes housing patterns in the US are shifting to where many more people are choosing to live in urban centers and neighborhoods where a car is not a necessity. Leinberger says the downside is that many suburbs may be on the decline. WFAE's Lisa Miller spoke with him about how Charlotte compares to other cities as far as fostering these walkable communities.
