NC To Revoke Alcoa Permit

The North Carolina Division of Water Quality will revoke a permit it granted last year to Alcoa Inc. The decision could block Alcoa's efforts to renew a 50-year federal license to run four dams along the Yadkin River. The decision to revoke the permit comes after evidence surfaced in an appeal of Alcoa's water quality permit. State officials say company e-mails show Alcoa "intentionally withheld information" about its ability to meet water quality standards. We'll have more on this later today.
